Maggi worked really hard to provide an excellent lunch for Anne & Charlie Fenton and Helen & Issac on Sunday. She cooked most of the meal on Friday. Because of the dietary requirements of our guests Maggi choose Salmon Fishcakes as the main ingredient of the entreé, with a tomato sauce and green vegetables. For the starter Maggi made pea and courgette soup with feta cheese. This has been a winner since Matt introduced this recipe before Christmas. We finished with an apple tart concoction. It consisted of cooked apples on an almost biscuit base. It didn’t meet the standards of the rest of the meal.
Helen warned Maggi before she arrived that she her relationship with Isaac was less than perfect. It didn’t seem to make any difference to his behaviour. He has always lived in a world of his own and this didn’t change. Perhaps he doesn’t realise rude his behaviour is or maybe he just doesn’t care. Throughout the meal he had his eyes centred on his phone. As soon as he had stopped eating he sat apart from the table. At one point out of the blue, when Maggi was working in the kitchen area, he approached her to show her photos of 2 paintings he had sold.
He has always told me what a big Arsenal fan he is. However when I put the match between Tottenham and Arsenal he barely looked at it and Helen and him left half-way through the first half. It’s no wonder he hasn’t any friends.
Charlie was good company as usual and he stayed until the end of the match even though Anne had already left,
Arsenal won and now stand 8 points clear at the top of the table.
