A day at Saverge and Feldenkrais

A very odd day that began with Maggi leaving the chalet at 4:55 to search for a quertzal. I failed to say goodbye and good luck. I was the only one who preferred their bed to bird watching.

I met everyone back at the dining room all chuffed with themselves having seen the elusive quertzal. After breakfast we took a walk along the banks of the Savegre River which consisted of no wildlife spotting, but some beautiful flora, despite our forest surroundings

Three of the girls on the trip choose to use the spare time with an optional horse riding session.

My highlight of the day came just before lunch when all the group except Janette and Martin had our Feldenkrais session. We walked across the hotel to an all-weather football pitch where Sue conducted the lesson. I found it very rewarding and relaxing. Sue talked us through a series of minor movements to our head, shoulders and hips. Each movement required us to think carefully about the muscles involved, the differences between the movements and which movement was easier and why.

  • After completing the session I felt that I would follow up this experience by trying to find a Feldenkrais practice near Pinner.

We all had dinner together in a very relaxed manner. After lunch back to the room to read etc. Maggi set off for a spa treatment at 3:30 pm while I stayed in and watched Match of the Day2. The headline match featured Chelsea v Manchester City which ended in a very entertaining 4-4 score line.

At 6 pm Maggi still hadn’t returned from her spa. I felt mildly annoyed that she had spent that long away. I gave her the key and went to the bar, where she joined me later.

Another meal at the hotel with the same menu which is becoming boring. Luckily we are off on our next adventure tomorrow. As everyone had risen early the party broke up around 8:30 so we could all pack and have our suitcases sitting outside the chalet for 6pm.
