Friday
After a walk around the village of La Colle with Maggi and Helen Lewis stopped for a drink at St Eloi we drove to Gourdon.

I had previously booked at Aux Vieux Four for 1:30 and we arrived at Gourdon at 12:30. We have eaten at the restaurant many times in the past and normally find the food good value. The two people who run the place are always very pleasant even though they are running round quite a bit to cope with the many customers.
Before we arrived at the restaurant we walked along the meadow at the base of Gourdon. Afterwards we climbed up to the village and showed Helen the great view and the old church. We also saw three new statues scattered around the edge of the village overlooking the view.
The food at Aux Vieux Four didn’t disappoint. I ate the Melon Gazpachio with ham. It was like having melon and ham with a difference. For the main course I enjoyed a tasty pork and potato dish with a very nice rich sauce. The meal finished with an apricot, cream and vanilla ice cream all in a pot. I shared this with Maggi and Helen.
We left the restaurant about 3:15 and that was the last food I ate for the day. The girls tucked into some bread and cheese later in the evening.
