We left La Huchette with a nice breakfast in our bellies and drove to Macon town centre to buy some wine in the local wine shop owned by some of the local vineyards. However we arrived too early and had a coffee in the nearest bar.
We had an only 7% charge left in the car and we drop to the nearest Tesla Supercharger where we filled up for ¾ hour. In the meantime we had a pleasant walk along the side of the River Saône.
We then headed on to Troyes where we arrived and parked in the hotel car park and recharged the car. The room at the Hotel de la Post situated in the heart of Troyes has much smaller, but adequate rooms. After a brief time recuperating from our trip we then set off to look around the town. We stopped for a coffee and then explored the cathedral of Troyes. Christianity has been present in Troyes since the 4th century and the church dates back to the 10th Century with many additions.

Much of Troyes’s central area has buildings that look medieval. Maggi posed in front of the fountains in one small area.
We wandered around for about an hour looking at the old buildings and also checking out the restaurant I had booked for the evening.
When we arrived about 20 past 7 the smallish restaurant called The Table De Francois had only a couple of other clients already seated. They only had two waiters who looked far too young to know what they were doing. The young lady in charge took our order. we couldn’t have several of the wines which we would have chosen because they were all out of stock and we settled for a bottle which was far more expensive than we would have chosen.
The service deteriorated from that point onwards. After 90 minutes we had only had our starter and I became a little bit annoyed. However, the food when it did arrived tasted quite good. Nowhere near as tasty as La Huchette but certainly very acceptable. It was just a pity that it took so long to arrive.

We left feeling a bit disgruntled and returned to our hotel passing by a very poor rock band playing in the square. Nothing anywhere near as good as in La Colle two nights earlier.
