Walking the Long Mynd

After a late rise at 8:30 and a reasonable breakfast the 4 Bed & Breakfast people met our friends the 4 campers in the middle of Church Stretton.

Garry had planned a walk that started at Carding Valley. An excellent walk that rose up onto the Long Mynd and over to the next valley where it joined the Shropshire Way. I expect to publish it on the web site soon. It was a pretty long trek. More than 34,000 steps were registered on the Activity App. The weather was nice all day. Not too hot. In fact there was one of those ideal moments that will stay in the memory for no particular reason. Nick and I were walking down the last section chatting away and the gentle sun autumn gave me a warm glow.

At the end of the walk everyone else went off to the pub but I took myself back to the B&B for a shower and a bit of relaxation.

After rest and recuperation I returned to Church Stretton with all the reprobates. The campers met us in the Mast. I found that my fellow bed and breakfast people had finished the kitty (£35) from the night before in their afternoon session and we had to start again. After more drinks in The Mast we adjourned to the Indian restaurant around the corner. It was a very good meal that everyone enjoyed. I was sitting next to Steve and opposite Matt. Back up the hill for a relatively early lights out.

The walk is published on the main site
