Set off at 8.15 to mum’s house in Northwood. She was ready and so with a car packed full we set off north. We had been asked to drop a key off at Sue and Geoff Fuller’s. As we joined the M25 the signed warn that the M1 is shut at Junction 12. Fortunately Waze is already working and we are directed around the problem. Arrive to find Sue cooking a few bits, Geoff out (playing golf) and Ralph and Fred upstairs. They never came down.
After 10 minutes we set off again and stopped at Malton for lunch. What a disappointment? Poor pies and no service.
Hutton Le Hole
After Pickering we turned off the main road towards Hutton-le-hole (see picture) and headed on to the moors.
North Yorks Moors
We continue and then head down towards the Rosedale valley.
We soon arrive at the cottage we have rented for the next 5 days. Now we are inside and waiting for Sarah, Adam and the 4 children to arrive. It’s their responsibility to make the meal on Christmas eve I’m hungry and looking forward to it.
