Maggi wanted to see her sister this weekend for a couple of reasons. Most importantly to support her through the crisis of Matt’s open heart operation, but also to give her a present on her birthday.
We arrived in Southsea in the early afternoon with Maggi driving. Naturally I found this quite frustrating on a longish motorway drive like this. Both Dave and Lynda warmly welcomed us.
We didn’t see Matt on either the Saturday or the Sunday, but that didn’t matter as were there principally to comfort Lynda. However Beckie Fisher was staying with Lynda and I haven’t seen her for a long time, so that was a bonus.

Lazy morning and then a walk along the front. I do worry about Dave who finds walking quite difficult. He seems to sway from side to side to get along. I think it must be his weight. I’m sure the doctor and Lynda will have told him he needs to drastically reduce the poundage.
The girls went in the sea despite the poor weather.

While the women were splashing around in the sea Dave and I sat in the beachside restaurant had quietly drank a coffee.
For lunch we walked round the corner from Stanley Street to a tapas bar called Sant Yago where we had a very nice meal. I’m not that keen on tapas, but we ordered just the right amount and everything I had tasted great. What more can you ask for.
