Another Jane and Ray day

  • by

Another sunny day in La Colle. For the first this year I decided to wear shorts. I probably could have worn them for the last few days but my concern about how my scabby legs would look. Since I arrived in La Colle I have applied normal cream to take away the dryness of the skin.

Maggi’s mood has improved considerably this morning and she has returned to her normal pleasant self. I’m sure we’ll have a nice day.

We sat outside in the summer kitchen to have our lunch. We all enjoyed the simple meal of salad, pate, cheese and bread, who doesn’t. Maggi added a touch of luxury with a raspberry covered cake.

After a little personal time tidying up my openclaw installation I had forty winks. I awoke to the sound of Maggi playing her Spotify playlist. I thought I needed a bit of exercise so I suggested that we all head down to the River Loup.

I drove and luckily found a parking spot at the entrance to the park. We set off and immediately Jane pointed out a grey wagtail at the rivers edge. We walked on and later she showed us some sand martins flying in the sky above us. It adds so much more to the walk when someone in the party has this type of expertise.

The Loup has carved out a course through the rock

I felt refreshed walking by the river and breathing in the fresh air. When we finished I drove to U-Express where we bought a few things for tomorrow’s picnic.

The meal ended and cleared away Ray suggested we watch an animated film called Les Triplets de Belleville. A French film which didn’t have or need sub-titles. Unfortunately both Maggi and I fell asleep despite the film being vaguely amusing. We concluded the evening halfway through the film and tried to call Alex who didn’t respond. Luckily we can usually speak to Adam for a decent amount of time most weeks.
