We began the day before 6:30. I had awoken at 1 am having turned the lights out at 9 pm. At 1 I didn’t think I would go back to sleep. I donned a mask and lay down to relax. The next thing I knew it was time to rise.
We walked up to the yoga area which lies beyond the restaurant and entered the open area. We have already become accustomed to removing our shoes whenever we enter any type of room. Thankfully I brought my open toed sandals.
Three other people, all female, were sitting or lying on mats when we arrived and the teacher sat cross legged. Another man arrived so that I wasn’t the only male in the class.
The yoga program lasted 90 mins and I felt just able to complete the exercises, not well but sufficiently. I didn’t give up and made it to the end without being completely exhausted.
From our yoga lesson we walked straight to breakfast where we enjoyed yogurt, granola, some fruit and eggs. I didn’t think I needed the eggs.
While munching away one of the admin staff approached to let us know they would move us to a higher spot with less climbing involved. When we saw that the new room was identical to our earlier room but closer to all amenities I was very grateful.
Our next job meant lunch. Initially they served pineapple soup. Firstly I only wanted a main course and secondly I didn’t like the taste. I left it and explained to the waiter that I wasn’t that hungry.
The main course was wonderful, with so many subtle flavours. The course consisted of a spinach sauce, carrot, turnip with a veggie patty plus another sauce. All delicious.
In the afternoon I accompanied Maggi to her massage session where they had sauna, steam room and a salted warm pool. We both sat in the pool and then showered. Maggi then went off for her treatment while I returned to the room to mess around with a few soduko games and update my diary. All very relaxing.
Maggi didn’t return to the room until after the start of the afternoon yoga session so I missed out on that. I didn’t feel disappointed. We stayed in the room having a drink and watching the telly until the time for dinner. Another superb evening meal, so very interesting and tasty. The same formula as the previous night with lots of small side dishes making up a collective gorgeous meal.
When we returned we started to watch a film starring Kevin Kostner but both of us kept dropping off to sleep and what we did see didn’t entice. Like many films they relied on cliches rather than original material.
Lights out and a fairly restless night with strange noises outside. I couldn’t make out if the sounds I could hear were birds or monkeys or possibly both.
