Last night we booked our first yoga session with the local master. The hotel has a special open air area for the yoga. Maggi and I were joined by John and Hutch. Both of them are much morse supple than either of us and Hutch is brilliant.
The session lasted for 90 minutes by which time, 10:30, the heat of the day made every movement generate a significant amount of sweat.
Our first breakfast at Kahanda Kanda could not match the variety and quality of the Shangri-La. We had curd with fruit and a little granola, plus some mixed tropical juice. I had two poached eggs on toast plus some additional toast. The local marmalade tasted great but the bread for toasting matches what you can buy on the cheapest shelves in the UK.

Breakfast didn’t finish until 11:30 and we made our way back to the room. I wrote up some of my diary and we just mooched around until about 4pm when we went up for a swim in the communal swimming pool.
Evening Meal
We returned back to the chalet to wash and brush up and then ascended the stairs back to the bar area where Maggi ordered a cocktail and I had a whiskey.
We didn’t really talk to anyone either in the bar or at the dining table. My meal consisted of ravioli in a tasty squash sauce. While the sauce was extremely good the ravioli pasta felt like a thick pie crust.
Te main dish, however, redeemed the meal. As per the starter I choose the vegetarian option which consisted of all sorts including, tomatoes, chick peas, tahini and much more. A delight for the palate is the best way to describe it, because every mouthful prodiuced a different flavour.
I finished off with a brownie with ice-cream tipped with a berry sauce. I only tasted the ice-cream because I didn’t want to sit up all night with indigestion. The concoction hit the nail on the head and Maggi and I both went to bed happy.
