Hospital visit and then onto Fiona & Mark’s party

Spent the morning shopping and messing around. Cooked a vegetable soup with enough for 3 healthy portions. and eat one of them. It was Celeriac concoction. It was tough cutting up the celeriac but I was surprised how quickly it cooked. I was pleased with my efforts.

I headed off to Maggi in Northwick Park where she was receiving her dose of Chemo. She seemed to be taking it very well, but it had only just started. After my customary 2 hours I came away.

I had gone there by tube as it made sense to go on from Northwick Park to Northwood to the Riley’s party. When I got to the station I saw on the noticeboard that the 2nd train was a going to Watford. Ideal. I sat in the waiting room with my headphones on and waited I saw one train go by and then when I heard a second I came out and jumped on board. I picked up a paper lying there and started to read an article by Nathaniel Rateliff and his trials. When I looked up again I realised I was at Rayners Lane.

Got off the train and crossed over the tracks and headed on back to Harrow. Waited at Harrow but realised that there was no stopping train going to Northwood. They then announced that a fast Amersham was coming in. Decided that this was the best option and crossed to the right platform. The train sped to Moor Park

where I got off and had to change platforms again. Another up and down process. I then took the final leg of the journey back to Northwood. What should of taken me 20 minutes at the most ended up taking over 1 hour.

Popped into Waitrose and bought a bottle of wine for the party. Spent a good evening there where I fortunately knew quite a lot of people. Spent much of my time telling everyone how Maggi was. Spoke quite a lot with Mike Harpham. He seemed to look me out for some reason. Towards the end of the evening Mark became sentimental and you knew he had had too much to drink. Left around 11:30 and went to bed.
