A very early start today. We left the house at 4:30 and set off for the Heathrow with Fiona. Maggi had picked up Fiona the night before.
A straightforward journey of 3 1/2 hours meant we arrived about 1:30 pm. On the plane with us we’re Helen, Matt, Claire and Martyn. A minivan waited for us at the airport to take us straight to Halepa Hotel in Chiana.
The receptionist told us she had upgraded us to a suite. A total disappointment when we arrived in the room. Nothing more than a a room with a very small divan bed.
A short break and then we joined Fiona and walked into Chania where we met the others having lunch. We had already eaten our packed a picnic and so didn’t need to eat again.

We all walked back together and then met up with our tour guides on the roof terrace of the hotel. Jonathan, his son Marcos and wife Myriam made up their team. He told us the plan for the holiday, but that he would be flexible depending on all the issues that can come into play.
We walked around the corner to a restaurant that sat on the quayside amongst the smell of seaweed. Claire ordered the starters and we all chose a fish. I opted for the sea bass. The food was excellent.

When we returned to the hotel Maggi and I had a completely unnecessary row about nothing. I used inappropriate words and we went to sleep without concluding anything.
