Today we as a family of 6 with a couple of friends of the girls had planned to drive up to Leavenworth for a two night stay. Leavenworth, a German themed town, well it has touches of what Disney thinks of as German. The place relies on tourism for its annual income.
The original thought had been to spend a couple of nights at Suncadia, again a place in the Cascades, but a proper resort with swimming pool and other activities on site. However Greg told us that Suncadia had no places left at such short notice, but his friend Tim who has a 2nd home in Leavenworth had an AirBnB visitor drop out at the last minute. So the plan settled on 2 nights in Leavenworth.
However, Maggi woke me up just before 7 coughing and spluttering to say she didn’t feel very well and then collapsed back to sleep. I suggested that we give Leavenworth a miss if this is how she felt. She agreed.
At 10 am Greg disappeared for about 30 minutes. It transpired that he had booked 2 nights at Suncadia after all. So Greg, Alex, Carrie, Sadie and their two friends Rio and Sky left for Suncadia about 13:30. Greg had spent most of the morning watching the Seattle Seahawks beat The Panthers in their attempt to finish top of their group and get a crack at the super bowl.
In the meantime I took Bennett for a long walk up to Highland Drive to get a good view of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.

After the family had left Maggi and I mooched around ate a lunch and dinner based on leftovers found in the fridge and the last of the turkey. I have managed to charge up the car so we can shop tomorrow.
