Tesla lets me down

Drop off Alex and family at station

Tesla oh Tesla you are letting me down. I opened the front bonnet to pull out a blouse for Maggi that she had left there. When I closed the bonnet the sensor told me I hadn’t shut it. No big deal you’d think if I can drive the car anyway.

Tesla with constant beep

Well I can drive the car but only with the constant warning bleep every second. I took Sadie and Carrie to The Abbey in La Colle. I had promised to take the family to the main station in Nice for their trip to Paris.

All hugs on arrival at the station from everyone but they are all desperate to exit the car with the bleeping beeping sound ringing in their ears.

Contact Tesla Failed buy birthday presents

I drove back to the Polygon shopping centre where Maggi bought Finn and Keir their 11 and 15 year birthday presents.

In the meantime I try and phone Tesla to ask for some help. Maybe it’s me but that didn’t work. After hanging on for ages I pressed the wrong button and lost the call. When I rang back I arrived at an English speaking bot. As usual this became a total failure all I got was a message to go to the Tesla app. At that point I gave up and swore at the bot and put the phone down. I’m sure I could have done better.

After following Maggi and the boys around Polygon we stopped at Joe the Juice and they all had a smoothie which they loved.

Lunch etc

We returned to the house and a couple of moments later Sarah and Adam appeared at the gates. They had spent their time at LeClerc buying lunch and dinner.

After lunch I tried to improve the car situation. Our favourite Tesla started randomly trigger the alarm. Eventually with the use of AI I managed to lower the volume of the bleeping and turn off the alarm trigger. But then of course I missed out on my siesta.

Unfortunately it didn’t stop there. Just before 5 pm as we all prepared to go out to Tourette the alarm sounded again. A few minutes later I noticed that the car had stopped charging.

I suggested that everyone go off to Tourette without me while I tried to sort the problem out. I worried that the faulty catch sensor had also triggered a fault in the charging system.

I moved the car so that I could charge it from the house and that worked fine and continued to add power all afternoon and evening albeit slowly. Currently at 10:30 pm the alarm hasn’t sounded again.

Evening at La Colle

When everyone returned Adam cooked burgers and pork chops on the barbecue and Sarah made two salads. All tasted very good. We drank a couple of bottles of wine between us and then had a wander down to the village.

Adam at the barbecue

La Colle seemed pretty quiet the only one restaurant doing well , Pàté Fine serves pizza outside and sits at the top end of Rue Clemenceau. Everywhere else appeared to be searching for customers. I walked past Atelier des Saveurs. He had three tables and no one was eating. When we walked back 10 minutes later and still no one had any food.

La Colle at night

After our village tour I came straight to bed after I had set up Ted Lasso for all of them to watch.
