Monday morning and I visited mum. She sat doubled up in her chair asleep when I first saw her. It took a great deal of effort before the care staff could move her out of the chair and into a wheelchair.
Bright sunshine meant I could take her outside so she could appreciate the weather with its warmth. I talked to her for about 1 hour before leaving for home.
Late afternoon and I drove round to West End Avenue to pick up Tom Rogers. I didn’t need to get out of the car. He rushed out as I drew up outside his house. It’s like an annual trip which Tom and I have enjoyed for 4 or 5 years that was miserably interrupted by the pandemic.
Tom is an avid horse racing fan. I don’t think there is anything about the event he doesn’t like. We had booked a table in the grandstand which had a good view over the course and the finishing post. However you can see it all on the large screens all around the course.
