We had tickets for the Broad Art museum for 11 am. The museum is just across the road from our hotel and we had a short walk along Grand Avenue before we turned up at the museum.

The permanent exhibition at the gallery is free but they do have special shows for which they charge. We just visited the free show. The exhibits are all from the private collection of Mr and Mrs Broad incredibly rich with a fortune valued at over 6 Billion made from house building established the museum in 2015 for their collection of post WWW II art.
There is only one floor of artworks but this is only a portion of their collection. They have a lot of works by LichtensteinJean-Michel Basquiat, Mark Bradford, Jasper Johns, Jeff Koons, Barbara Kruger, Yayoi Kusama, Kerry James Marshall, Julie Mehretu, Takashi Murakami, Robert Rauschenberg, Ed Ruscha, Cindy Sherman, Cy Twombly, Andy Warhol.
Below you’ll find some images at the show I quite liked. There was much more that I thought would never stand the test of time even though the artist may well have made a few bob in recent years.

For a Wednesday morning I thought the exhibition quite busy.
We then decided to have lunch in the central market and picked out a Mexican stall to buy lunch from. We both had burritos and couldn’t finish them. After a break back at the hotel we decided to walk to the Vista Hermosa Natural Park. It took us about 40 minutes to walk.
On the way we passed the flash buildings on The Grand Avenue, industrial buildings, Power and Water Authority, underneath some major motorway, and past some unsavoury looking people living in tents.
When we arrived at the park which was very pleasant but not worth 40 minutes walk each way. The park never reached the heights described by TripAdvisor. It was just a small park with a nice meandering path and plenty of shade which would be great in the summer months.
In the evening we ate at the hotel which was again overpriced and just very average.
On our way to and from the park we encountered a drone delivery vehicle that seemed stuck. We also had to negotiate the road system with the large roads that run through the city. It’s like the centre of Birmingham but on steroids.
