During the middle of the night Maggi said, “the car alarms gone off twice within a few minutes”. I reluctantly rose, put shoes on and went down to the car, which had stopped charging.
I had left the car to charge outside the house rather than in the garage and so the car alarm would blast around the neighbourhood. I unlocked the car port and drove the car into the garage and shut the door. What a nightmare the front lock malfunction had become.
I had trouble getting back to sleep but managed eventually. When I woke naturally around 8 I walked over to the house and found Adam sitting on the balcony reading with a pot of coffee. What a welcoming sight.
I said to myself we can’t drive all the way back tomorrow with all these Tesla issues going on, so I phoned the service number again. This time I waited til all the options and chose emergency breakdown. Immediately I spoke to a human being and I explained the issue.
Tesla fixed the noise
After a little bit of chat he told me to go to the service centre in Mandelieu. Thankfully Maggi agreed to come with me.
I spoke to the heavily tattooed service receptionist immediately. Other customers sat in the coffee area and he located my car on his system. “You have a service due in England for next week.” he pointed out. Yes but I need to get there without having to listen to the alarm all the time. He then declared that the part he needed wasn’t in stock. My heart sunk.
He continued to fiddle with his computer and then asked me to wait while he walked off behind the scene. All the time I could hear this heavy rap music blaring out through the walls. I presumed it came from the services guys trying to keep their spirits up in the heat.
Mr Tattoo returned and said they did have the part after all. He offered me a seat in the waiting area, but Maggi and I walked next door to Lidl to buy a croissant for breakfast.
The repair only took half-hour and we left to a nearby supercharger to top the car up to 80%.
A trip to U-Express and the boulangerie and we returned to the house at midday. Thankful that this episode had finished satisfactorily.
Afternoon
A lazy lunch ended with a birthday cake for Finn. He is 11 and quite grown up for his age, certainly very bright and very good company until he has the occasional strop. Happy Birthday Finn.
After lunch we all retired to our various corners. I scooted off to the flat and had a short siesta and reserved about quarter past four.
A swim with Maggi and Finn where we played in the pool with a football, volleyball, catch and piggy in the middle.
Back to Pizzati
In the evening we all returned to Pizzati restaurant for our final meal together for the holiday. We then took our last walk through La Colle for this holiday and lo and behold a bunch of extremely competent musicians played in the street. We saw them play in a couple of spots in Ave Clemenceau and they managed to raise the audience to dancing in the street.

It was great inspiration to any budding musician like Sorely or Finn. They entertained the audience brilliantly.
