After a quiet day around the house where I made a slow-cooked lamb curry with spinach. I probably made the dish too spicy because it was just hot rather than having any subtlety about it.
In the evening timed over to Steve Weiman he gave me a lift to Dusty’s where we enjoyed The Good Old Boys. They are a 5 piece with two guitarists, base player drummer and lead singer. The band were extremely well rehearsed with a tight rhythm section. Richard Hudson the drummer performed with the Strawbs and Hudson Ford, both groups had some success in the early to mid 70s. The lead singer, Alan Barratt, had an extremely powerful voice. He claimed that with bits of his body falling off the only thing left of his youth was his voice.
The group played a mixture of blues and rock’n roll. They finished with, in my opinion the 2 best numbers of the night, Oh Well from Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac and Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh. Good entertainment again at Dusty’s. I didn’t win the raffle tonight.
Steve continued his kindness by dropping me off at Meadow Road. Steve followed the sat nav from the gig, but missed understood two events along the way.
