I awoke from a slightly uncomfortable sleep beside Maggi on the divan in Adam’s office. I had another dream about the fear of dementia which must be worrying my subconscious. Or is this fear something that worries all those over 75.
Adam had already appeared in the kitchen and made coffee which he brought into our makeshift bedroom. The next moment I saw him out in the garden feeding the chickens. He just doesn’t stop.
When I arrived for breakfast he was cooking poached eggs on toast and he soon made the same for Maggi and me. Keir appeared in his football gear and Adam sorted out toast for him.
Adam asked if I wanted to accompany him on the 20 minute drive to the location of Keir’s morning football match. I did and we found ourselves in a very large school car park on the edge of Glasgow. Keir remained unsure of exactly where to go until he saw the coach and a friend. At which point he didn’t turn to look back but changed into his new role as friend and companion.
When we arrived back Sarah and Maggi sat where we had left them chatting away. The mess in the kitchen remained. I helped by washing up and adding plates etc to the dishwasher. I wondered why Sarah hadn’t made any effort to help out in the house while Adam had driven Keir to his game.
Adam and Sarah had decided that we should go out for Saturday lunch. We set off and passed through Maxwell Park where Adam and Sarah had married back on 2nd June 2007. It seemed a good idea to take a photo as a reminder of the day.

The walk to the restaurant took about 35 minutes and we ended up in a fairly seedy area.
However the actual Osteria looked as if it had received a thorough face lift recently. We had a decent meal consisting of bruschetta plus pasta. With a pudding to follow. The kids wanted the doughnuts so we bought two of these, which consisted of five doughnuts per helping. Impossible for them to eat 5 doughnuts between 2 when they had already had eaten a bowl of pasta and bread.

On the return walk we chose a longer different route through Pollock Park. The heavily wooded area of the path made for a nice change from the roads and cars we had passed before.
When we left the park we entered the poshest part of Pollockshields. The houses grow higher and wider in bigger plots. All seem immaculately maintained with lovely gardens. The flourishing rhododendrons adorn most of these houses in a variety of colours. Some might say these properties are ostentatious and they are commanding but in a classical 19th century way.
We returned well in time to watch the Arsenal v Paris St Germain but before the match Sorely and Finn start to kick off.
Fortunately that minor skirmish faded out quiet quickly. The Champions League final began well for Arsenal with a Havertz goal after only 5 minutes. In the second half PSG won a penalty. The game continued to the end without further goals. We then ended with penalties.
Arsenal missed two penalties and ended up as runners-up.
We shouted and jumped up and down throughout the match, but at the end everything became quiet. Keir and Finn both looked very down and even Adam seemed very sad.
