An early rise today and a walk in the cold up to Pinner Hill via Hatch End cut throughs to the open fields and then up via Pinner Hill golf club and the woods. Everywhere is covered in frost and the ground is solid.
In the evening the Rileys and Jones with Mandie came over for dinner. We watched the quarterfinals with England against France. The English team played well but lost after Kane skied the second penalty over the bar.
Everyone bought a contribution to the meal and each course was delicious. Rileys came with various dips. Matt had made a courgette and pea soup with feta cheese. Maggi prepared a steak and vegetable pie. Mandy’s contribution was an almond cake and raspberries. In addition Helen supplied rhubarb. All too much food.
Mark as usual drank more than anybody else during the evening. I sat on the end watching the football more intently than anyone.
