20 February 2023
A change of routine today as we prepare for our trip to Hawaii. A bit of packing of shorts, t-shirts and swimsuit in the hope that it’s warm at our destination.
Find out Alex is leaving us a day early because she needs to fly to India with Bill. Not sure I would like to follow her schedule. I’m sure she’ll be back in Seattle by the following weekend.
Maggi and I went out for a walk on Highland Drive and then off for lunch at the xxxx Sushi restaurant on n Queen Anne. I really enjoyed my simple meal of edamame, and a udon noodle main dish.
The extra large Uber arrived at 2:30 to take us to the airport.
When I went through security I was inexplicably pulled aside and subjected to a very intrusive body search. I thought this was totally unjustified, but put up with it anyway. It seemed like the easiest way out of the situation.
Greg, as a gold Alaska Airlines customer led the way into the lounge. Despite the fact there were 6 of us we all entered and only paid and extra 30$.

A couple of drinks and a few nibbles later we headed toward the gate. With Maggi and her brace we entered the aircraft before any other passengers.
I originally sat next to a guy whose wife served us as one of the stewardesses. I later swapped seats with Carrie and I sat next to a woman whose best friend was another stewardess. We were lucky enough to receive extra refreshments. In my case that featured a fair amount of whiskey.
Greg had ordered a huge Ford from Alamo and we drove in the dark to the hotel. The suite had 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and a communal area with a convertible sofa/bed for the kids. There was also a rudimentary kitchen area with the very basics in utensils.
This is our home until Monday 27 February.
