Day in bed the Helen & Greg leave

After yesterday when I spent most of the time in bed, I awoke to feeling refreshed and ready to go.

First thing on Monday morning I drove Greg down to Nice Airport. He spoke occasionally but spent most of his time looking at the news on his iPhone.

A yacht in the bay on the way to the airport

By the time I returned to La Colle everyone had woken and eaten breakfast. They sat around the table chatting away. I hung around for awhile to see if Helen would help clearing away the breakfast things. No such luck. After we had talked for awhile she rose and said she needed to get herself packed. Although we wouldn’t be leaving for another 3 hours she had to go then.

Helen disappeared for an hour or so. Afte she had left Maggi checked out the flat and found that she needed to clean the shower.

Maggi drove Helen to the airport with the help of Sadie and Alex. I stayed and looked after Carrie.

La Cave de Tourrettes

Alex booked a table at La Cave de Tourrettes in Tourette-sur-Loup. I had checked her choice out and the pictures showed images of hamburger and stuff the kids might like. We arrived outside about 20 minutes early. We had walked along the back way from the car park and as we passed the restaurant it started to rain.

We asked if we could take our table now and that we would like to be inside. They placed the five of us in a corner. It turned out that they didn’t have any food for kids and the only thing available was steak tartare or a fish dish bit at €24 each. We chose a bottle of wine but didn’t finish it between us. The food was ok but none of us felt comfortable in the place and we left as soon as possible.

Not only did we not enjoy the food but a group of Irish families occupied this small bistro and increased the decibel level beyond comfortable.

We all left feeling disappointed with our night out after starting off with such good expectations.
