This morning both Maggi and I did a yoga workout for 21 minutes. Neither of us have done any yoga since we arrived in La Colle. The 21 minutes seemed harder given the break, but both of us managed to get through the exercises.
We left the house around 11 and drove to Gamm Vert to buy a timer for our hose. For some reason the previous hoser timer had stopped working and jammed at 20 minutes to go, which meant it continued to fill up the pool ad infinitum. It could have resulted in the swimming pool completely overflowing if Maggi hadn’t spotted the water level.
From the garden centre we drove to our old house in Vence which has had a complete makeover since we sold it 20 odd years ago.
I then climbed up the hill and found out how narrow the road becomes. I just about manoevered the car between the walls of the bridge we needed to cross. On the other side I stopped outside the Matisse Chapel for a picture.
I returned the 4G dongle to Bouygues Telecom, which had about 6 people waiting to be served by the one man.
For some reason I had dreamt about planning this route from La Colle to the restaurant, taking in all the places above. The dream seemed to go on and on as I debated with myself what way would be the most efficient. None of which mattered.
From Vence we drove to Bar-sur-Loup to have lunch with Jilly, David, Mads and Tom at the Jasmin. We arrived 10 minutes early to find Jilly and David already seated in a very quiet restaurant, with only one other table occupied.
Mads and Tom arrived a little later and tended to dominate the conversation with stories of Gissy and her Legal Exams.
As usual we ate well here. I had polenta chips and salad to begin with, followed by a lamb and humus main course and finally an apple and cheese desert.
We hadn’t seen Jilly and David since the beginning of the year and it was nice to be in touch again. I’d like to see more of them. Sometimes I find that Mads and Tom get in the way, although I do appreciate their friendship.
Came back to La Colle had a sleep and then more or less pottered about until I watched Manchester City play Crystal Palace.
