1st full day on Whidbey Island

  • by

The day started with a rousing chorus of happy birthday to celebrate Sorely’s 10th birthday.

All 12 of us left the house in the morning to go to Coupeville and a sculpture park. The park sat in a forest area with only a few parking places, which meant one car parked on the main road.

We wandered along the path between the trees and found various works of art which had been strategically placed.

We ate our picnic lunch in the sculpture park. We decided to head back via the town of Langley. Alex drove the Tesla and we found a charging point. Greg had taken all the children and he had stopped in Langley as well. The township of Langley specialises in tourism and has lots of cute shops.

It didn’t take long before we bumped into the kids who had just bought jewellery from a general store. We walked down to the shoreline and then back up. Langley has a very nice position on the island.

While we were wandering along the shore Sorely disappeared which cause a little panic. We found him by Greg’s car which was a very sensible place to wait.

Greg left and we picked up some more provisions plus the car. Within 90 minutes the car had only charged up enough to get home and off the island.

On the way back to the house we stopped off at a recommended bar. It turned to be nowhere special. Not worth a second trip.

Home where Sarah had made bolognaise sauce earlier in the day. We ended up eating around six and headed to bed about 9.
