A Great Relief

I drove Maggi to Northwick Park in the afternoon for another test in the Haematology department. She had pushed for this after the Petscan consultation with Dr Amita Ranger showed signs of inflammation in her lymph nodes. The biopsy test made Maggi somewhat apprehensive because it could show that after all her lymphoma had returned.

She entered the consultation room where six people sat around including a clinical director. Her anxiety rose. Why all these people to see me she thought. They started the ultrasound to identify the point or points of inflammation. after a few minutes the radiographer said I can’t find anything. This time the clinical director tried and came up with the same result. Nothing there. The director asked, have you been ill. At which point Maggi pointed out that her notes showed she had been in a Northwick Park bed for nearly 3 weeks and received oxygen.

Anyway the upshot of it all is that she is now clear of a diagnosis of lymphoma and because she is virtually back to normal the only thing we have to find out is what caused the issue in the first place. Maggi took the tube back which showed the recovery she has achieved after being bed bound two weeks earlier.

In the morning I had taken the train to Rickmansworth and had a very pleasant walk with Mark and Garry. Excellent weather meant I wore shorts and only a t-shirt. The route consisted of a tour from the station down to Miller and Carter restaurant, down Budleia Walk, across Croxley Common, the Ebury Way, a part of the Grand Union and round the Rickmansworth lakes.

Along the Ebury Way

The two of them continued onto a pub while I returned to Pinner for some shopping and lunch.
