I started the day by driving Islay and Sarah down to Freeland and the nearest Pharmacy. When we arrived the pharmacist made it clear that they couldn’t provide the medicines that Sarah wanted because they required a prescription.
The only place to pick up a prescription was back towards the house at the junction of Cultis Bay Road and the 525. I dropped them Sarah and Islay off at the clinic and filled up with petrol. When I returned I discovered that Islay needed to show her passport before the doctor could examine Islay.
We drove home to pick up the passport and have a coffee. Fortunately Alex offered to take over driving duties and off she went to Whidbey-Health with Islay and Sarah.
Maggi and I decided to go for a walk and we looked in the trails booklet that hung around the house. South Whidbey Community Park has some open space plus some trails. We took one of the trails and walked around the perimeter of the park.

After our tour we returned to Dancing Trees for lunch. We basically eat up all the remains of yesterday’s chilli, sandwiches and coleslaw. It seemed like a good idea to use up leftovers rather than throw food away.
After a little lazing around we returned to the Community Park and started to play around on the grass area. Sadie suggested a game of soccer baseball. The pitcher rolls the football towards the person on the home base who attempts to kick it. From there on the rules are very similar to ordinary baseball.
All was going well. We were all enjoying the fun of running round and making fools of ourselves. Then I needed to run to the next base and I felt a twinge in my Achilles and a few steps further it really hurt. I don’t think I have ruptured the tendon but I have severely strained it.
That’s going to impact the rest of our holiday.
At this point we headed to Langley and ordered pizzas on the front. The only problem we had to wait 2 hours for them to be ready. In the meantime we drank 3 bottles of wine in the nearby wine bar. Adam found a potential walking stick from the beach driftwood.

Eventually the pizzas arrived and just as I remembered I classed them as second rate. We returned to the house.
