Morning
Our turn has arrived again to make the evening meal. After breakfast Islay, Sadie, Sarah, Maggi and I set off for the nearest supermarket. On the way we called on the nearest set of shops where two years ago we bought all our produce. Today the place covered up and boarded looked a sorry sight.
We drove onto the next shopping area and the supermarket called Goose. Almost immediately Maggi took a dislike to the place. We ended up spending over $200 on some stuff for the evening meal and a few other essentials.
Afternoon
Back to Linda Lane our home where we prepared lunch for everyone. Maggi did most of the work.
Everyone wanted to go shopping in Langley to buy things for their holiday in the touristy shops. To get everyone to Langley requires at least 2 cars. Greg stayed behind to do some work.
I wanted to swim I Goss Lake so I aimed to drop a couple of people off and then go to the lake for a quick swim. Once I’d had my swim I would be able to return to Langley to pick them up and return home. Unfortunately this plan went astray when we found ourselves in a traffic jam.
By the time I had exited the jam we needed to return to Langley and pick up a car load and return to Linda Lane. We returned to a quiet afternoon.
Around 4 pm I started to help Maggi with the evening meal. We served a prawn with Orzo meal from Ottolenghi. Most everyone enjoyed it, but Maggi spent most of the afternoon in a strop. She calmed down a little when she found out what people thought of the dish.
We sat around for quite along time and then all the adults sat and watched a cute film The Ballad of Wallis Island. We all enjoyed the film about a folk duo brought back together by a rich fan who wants them to play a gig just for him.
