Friday Dowlers and Flight to Scotland

I’m still not quite over jet lag despite walking with Garry on Wednesday, so I continue to avoid my early morning yoga.

After breakfast I go for a walk around Pinner and return at 11 am, shower, change and realise I’ve not had a message from Gor. My doctor provided a two part prescription for piles, suppositories plus ointment. The pharmacy gave me the suppositories on Wednesday with a statement that the ointment “will be here tomorrow”. No cream arrived on Thursday and when I turned up on Friday still not available.

We headed into town and arrived at 64 Goodge St for our lunch with the Dowlers. They had already arrived and sat at the table when we walked in.

Dowlers at 64 Goodge St

We all choose the lunch set menu at £39 each which consisted of chicory salad, cassoulet, and vanilla ice-cream. The salad although simple tasted great and was enjoyed by everyone. The main dish of cassoulet tasted fine, but had no wow factor. The spoonful of vanilla ice cream showed no cooking skills whatsoever and completely disappointed.

After our meal the Dowlers and us walked down to Tottenham Court Rd station. On the way Jeremy talked Telegraph rubbish about electric cars, particularly regarding how the weight of EVs would cause the roads to breakup more because of the extra EV weight.

We said goodbye to the Dowlers and jumped on the Elizabeth line to Woolwich. We had to walk to the DLR station at Woolwich Arsenal about 5 minutes away. From there it is just 2 stops to City Airport.

Another plane takes off from City Airport

Unfortunately we had to wait 3 plus hours for the plane, but everything departed on time and Adam picked us up.

When we arrived at his new home a very proud Sarah and Adam gave us the guided tour of the house. They have a lot to do to make it an enjoyable place to live, but the house has lots of potential.
