We started Thursday in La Colle and finished Friday Eve in Glasgow.
Another lovely day in the south of France and after a short session with Adrian’s on the mat we began the final part of clearing up the house and preparing to leave. We decided to go out for lunch at Piz’zatti on the main road to St Paul.
We had been there before and it provides by far the best pizzas in La Colle. Maggi chose a pizza but I decided to have the Plat du Jour which was lamb on a bed of mash potato. Quite nice and reasonable value. Maggi also wanted a starter and she choose the ham and melon salad which we shared. Like the main course it was well prepared if not spectacular. The melon was ripe and the ham tasted pretty good.
When we came back I had a small siesta. We then did the final touches to our departure. We left slightly early which was a relief because the traffic to the airport was horrendous. It took us over an hour just to make it down to the coast. Apparently a truck had spilled its load n the A8 and this had caused the chaos.
A 40 flight delay meant we didn’t arrive home until 11:00 which effectively meant 12:00 for us. The temperature in the top bedroom must have reached 30° and I slept with all the windows open and without any pyjamas or covers.
Friday Maggi left for another appointment with Youngman while I visited Pinn medical centre to receive jabs for our trip to Costa Rica. As a t happened I only needed a tetanus injection.
After lunch I had a reasonable walk but I felt twinges in my ankle and calf. I hope I’ll be ok in Crete. The heat and humidity make it all feel uncomfortable and so I indulged in a second shower of the day. I also took the opportunity to wash my hair and clip the toe nails.
Getting to the airport was much easier than I expected for a Friday afternoon. We arrived early but had to wait ages in security while they checked our one bag. Maggi lost one of her beauty products.
A meal in the lounge and we set off more or less on time. Adam picked us up with Islay. When we arrived back at Regents Park Square Sarah had gone to bed and Adam soon disappeared after offering refreshments. I stayed downstairs for a little bit longer.
