Internet back as Jane and Ray Leave

**Internet outage continues** — thought it might’ve come back overnight after Olivier’s outage, but no luck.

This what an internet outage looks like from inside a French home

Drove to Vence to arrange technical call (using Nathalie’s mobile) and to pick up a 4G dongle so we could use the internet.

I arrived early at Bouygues Telecom before the shop had opened. However two other clients stood waiting before me. By the time we entered another 2 customers followed me in to the store. However the one guy dealt with customers quickly and handed over the 4G dongle with no fuss. He also booked a call for 5:30 PM with their technical team.

Arrived back home to find the gardeners already working hard. They continued for two hours — garden looks very tidy now

La Colle village tour with Maggi Jane and Ray.

First stop: Pizatti for non-alcoholic drinks Looked at a couple of restaurants, settled on St Eloi

The Eloi was as usual very busy at lunch time. Only two servers on duty meant they worked frantically but stayed cheerful and helpful (gave one guy an extra €5 tip despite service charge already included)

What’s on offer at St Eloi

We all had an ice-cream up the road at the crêperie next to the bakers. I chose noisette flavour, only ok.

On our return to the house I had a short nap before we had to take Jane and Ray to the airport. When I came downstairs Maggi said “we have the internet back”. Great news.

Decorating La Colle for Roses Day

We dropped our guests off at the airport well in time for their flight. Both Maggi and I had enjoyed their company. They had helped out in the kitchen. I’d describe them as flexible and prepared to try out whatever we suggested. So all in all I give them a high mark on the guest criteria.

When we arrived back, Olivier and Nathalie had their internet back on as well. Olivier gave us some patè from near Signale, which we had as a snack. Andrjez came over to pick up the money for the work his boys had done.

The 5:30 call with Bouygues Telecom never happened, just like the time before.

Finally Maggi watched a couple of episodes of the Pit, I messed around on the computer and we both sat down to send a card via Moonpig to Carrie for her birthday on the 23 rd May.
