Lynda & Dave stay the night

The week long frost broke yesterday and now the clear skies have been replaced with our usual grey winter clouds. I left the house for my daily walk with a raincoat rather than a padded jacket and no longer bothered with gloves and hat.

Just before midday Maggi and I bordered the Met Line for town. Maggi had arranged to meet them at The Coach Makers Arms in Marylebone Lane.  Rather than ordering a whiskey I decided to select a beer. Maybe the words of the doctor had effected me.

Around 1:30 we wandered down the Lane to the Relais de Venise where we queued until 2 pm. I don’t believe Dave had any say in the choice of restaurant. I certainly hadn’t. I’ve now been to this place too many times and I’m fed up with it.

After eating we walked straight back to Baker Street. Given that we traipsed down  Marylebone High Street it surprised me that we didn’t stop at any clothes shops.

As we arrived at Baker Street Station a fast service to Watford stood waiting for us. We alighted at Pinner within 15 minutes.

The evening consisted of searching the myriad of TV programmes for a film we could all agree on. The girls of course made the most noise when it came to any choice. We eventually picked Tea with Mussolini which featured lots of stars including Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Cher. I became bored by the time we had reached halfway through.
