Arrived at Kings Cross with Garry on the Metropolitan Line. Nick stood there as her had arrived 30 minutes earlier. I called Jon and he’s phone didn’t connect so I assumed he was still in the underground system. Of course he arrived late, but everyone expected that.
We wandered off to the Welcome Trust to have a coffee and see whatever exhibition happened to be on. I bought the coffees expecting that when we came to eat later that this cost would be shared. That didn’t occur. We chatted about this that and everything with Jon making the most contribution and then we walked over to the exhibition entitled In Plain Sight. The title seemed so appropriate with Jon in our party.
We spent just under an hour touring the exhibition. The show displayed a whole variety of spectacles and goggles to improve vision and protect the eye, from sunlight as well as from hazardous conditions. There were many examples of how people in the past had tried to explain the eye and our ability to see, and, of course, quite a bit on our perception of colour. This included a couple of examples of tests for colour blindness, which I happened to pass with flying colours (pun intended).

From the Welcome Trust we walked backwards to Leigh St where Jon remembered a pub called The Norfolk Arms. The pub as Jon recalled had changed. It now propertied to be a tapas inn. I really didn’t fancy anything on the menu and ended up choosing the vegetarian mezzo. It basically consisted of a few bits of pitta bread and hummus and a few tinned vegetables, rubbish for £12.
After 2 pints and agreement on the venue and timing of our European Trip we split up. Garry and I returned to Kings Cross and boarded the train back home.
