When I came down for breakfast I found that more than half the party had the dreaded lurgy during the night. I didn’t feel 100% and I didn’t eat anything for breakfast.
Fiona had been hit but had now recovered. Mark remained in bed and when I saw him later he still felt extremely lethargic.
I haven’t seen Nick all day, while Nick’s sister seems fine.
When I came down at lunch time only 6 of the guests attended which meant 7 remained in their rooms. The rooms themselves are not very comfortable so it is definite testimony to how bad people feel.
I walked a short distance with Mark but he couldn’t face more than a 10 minute stroll. After lunch I followed the path up the hill to a spring and shrine which took me 15 minutes each way.
After not eating at lunch and taking my short exercise I returned to the bedroom and fell asleep until 7 pm the agreed meet up time. 5 people gathered and Jonathan led them up to the church at the top of the village. I remained seated and waited for their return. After awhile I joined them and looked in on the church. Today’s tabernacle had been completely refurbished with all the icons and frescos renewed since the start of the century. It seems such an effort for so few people to enjoy. Normally the doors are locked and you can’t enter but Jonathan had arranged for us to visit.
Outside the church sat a man reading a book. He had set up his tent in the shelter of the church. I started talking to him. It turned out that he had toured Greece on his motorbike visiting all the most interesting places on the mainland.
Only half the people arrived for dinner. Everyone had the chicken soup including Maggi. I just had bread and honey. We all dispersed soon afterwards. Maggi puked up immediately we returned to our room.
We made it through the rest of the night without further difficulties.
