We again followed the route advised by Hidden London Walks. Today’s journey was almost completely off-road along the Lee Valley to the Olympic Park. As usual we chatted away about all and sundry. The sun shone and the coldness of the last week or so had largely disappeared and therefore we had good walking conditions.
Harry is quite concerned about his wife Jo whose mother has recently been taken to a care home. Apparently she has always been a little bit difficult and now that she has dementia she has become even worse and attacked o while she was feeding her mother. As a result Jo has taken some time off work sat her school because it has caused her a great deal of emotional stress.
We ended up in the Westfield shopping centre at Stratford where we both bought a salad in Pret a Manager. Harry’s speed eating surprised me a little. He had finished his meal and gone to the toilet outside the restaurant and returned while I continued to chomp away.
After our meal we had a wander around Westfield. Harry had admired my sunglasses and we popped into a shop where he bought a pair. I also bought some Nespresso decaffeinated pods to drink in the evening.
We parted at the station and I jumped onto the Elizabeth Line for the first time which took me to Bond Street to change onto the Jubilee and then Metropolitan lines. Unfortunately I dozed off just before Pinner and missed may stop. I had to return via Northwood Hills.
