After my statutory Saturday morning walk we set off for Kings Sutton to see Richard, without Aida being there. But more importantly James was there with his new Japanese wife and 18 month old son Leon, plus Josh. It was a happy family occasion Lucie turned up having been dropped off by her current non-permanent boyfriend who I never saw as he headed on to see his parents in Birmingham.
We arrived around 12:30 and didn’t leave until around 6:30. Cooking in Richard’s household seems to be organised chaos. We ate our starter of smoke salmon with a dill sauce provided by Maggi fairly early on, but the rest of the cooking hadn’t even started until way after 2 pm and we all sat down to eat that around 4:30. In the meantime everyone talked. None of the children helped much. The only help came from Maggi, Richard’s wife and myself.
We needed the day there sitting in the garden enjoying the evening sun.
